My Rea family line goes back to 1750 to Robert Rea born in Londonderry twp, Lancaster Co Pa. usa. I have found a death bed will of John Rea b. 1730 d. 1762 in Lancaster Pa. In the will he mentions a wife (no name) a son Robert (right age for my Robert) and an infant son John.
executers were Robert Hays and John Shaw. witnessed by John McQueen and Robert Mckee.
maybe John had a sister Margaret. Looking for parents of John and where he came from and when he came to the usa. thank you for your time. Judy Rea Gore

Dear Judy,
Happy to reply. Scots in PA are generally Quakers who came from Northern Ireland, having come over there from Scotland in the 1600's. They are either Ulster Scots or Scots mercenaries (Orange men), the latter having come over about 1689 from Scotland to Ireland. Check first in American Quaker records (good source, book by Hinshaw, in most genealogical libraries).
Best wishes,
Cornelia W. Bush, CLS, FSA Scot
