Hi, my name's Justin Horne and I have been researching my ancestors for years. It's been part of my family's anecdotal evidence that we have Scottish ancestry, and having lived in Scotland for a time, I would be exceedingly proud to know that it was true.

The reason for my post is that I have reservations about the reliability of I know it's fraught with inaccuracies, and as the research I've done tends to link the McCreight name with Macrae, I would hope anyone in the know reading this would take a moment to "check my work," so to speak.

I'd like to know if I'm right in thinking I've correctly traced the line from my great-great-grandmother Rosannah Adeline McCreight (1853, married to William I. Alexander in Ohio in 1872) who was the daughter of William Orr McCreight (1820), who was the son of James McCreight (1789), who was the son of David McCreight (1745), who was in turn the son of David McCreight (1709), who was the son of yet another David McCreight (1680 of Glasgow), who was the son of William Ian McCreight (1650 of Lesmahagow)?

If this is all present and correct, would this give me standing to gain membership in the clan?
