Hello - As a MacDonnell (of the W. Isles...Islay & Antrim) I would like to lend a hand & maybe give some joy to someone. I bought a pic. frame at an auction in Colac, Victoria, Australia which has a Clan McCrae gathering photo of around 1900? (about 50 males, men & boys, many great highland outfits, etc)- on back it is to go from Geelong to "Camperdown Railway Station" - the one just west of Colac I presume. I presume the McCrae property was at/near Camperdown & then they retired to the big old house "Montrose" in Colac? Could be a gathering in Scotland judging by the many highland outfits sent out to a homesick McRae 'pioneer'? Or local & printed in Geelong? Someone may know about this "clan" photo? Or if interested anyway, plse let me know & I'll scan to you. Send this to the Aust. president plse. Would be interesting to post on your site. I have not taken the frame apart yet to see what maybe on the back of the photo or mounts?? I am in Melbourne, Vic. Aus. - 03 96450184. I couldn't just let this faboulous picture of McCrae men, history & tradition just just disappear into the mist forever!
