My 4xtimes great grandparents were John MacRae and Julia MacRae, daughter of Alexander MacRae of Camusluinie. The gravestone at Baile-na-Cille, Uig, Isle of Lewis is of their grandson, James MacKenzie who died at Linshader, 15th May, 1892, aged 76 years. It only commemorates his mother, Flora MacRae who died at Reef aged 80 years and his grandmother Julia MacRae who died at Kinloch, Uig aged 81 years. There are no other dates mentioned. John and Julia Macrae had at least two children - Flora and my 3xtimes great grandfather, Alexander MacRae who was married to Margaret Johnstone and farmed at Scaliscro, Uig.
Is there anyone who can supply names, dates and places farther back from John and Julia? My family tree has a brick wall at that point.
