I am trying to find out more on the line of John Macrae who was a tacksman in Inversheil and who had sons one of wich I am looking for, Farquhar, who had Donld the soldier and Malcolm sheriff officer in Kintail. There seems to be a lot of history from John who saved his uncle back, but nothin on these two sons. Have looked about everywhere I can think of with no real luck. Did the DNA test and looks like I am conncted with Alexander born 1800/1802 who married Margaret McLean and was in lochbroom. I am told by a descendant that he is son of Donald the soldier who died in 1812 in Edinburgh and is the Donald above. They believe i am through one of the sons of Donald the soldier. They believe his wife was a McKenzie and when he died went home to her family and thus my known ancestor Daniel McKenzie born 1823 has the McKenzie last name and not that of MacRae Hmmm must prove that as I can not just put it down without the proof. Trying to make a connection if anyone out there knows what to do. Thank you
